| St. Healer Panteleimon (decapitated in the reign of emperor Maximillian, 4 cent. AD) is one of the most loved and worshiped saints in Russia. The first annalistic mention of his miraculous intercession dates back to 1151, when he saved Grand Prince Izyaslav from death in a battle. Ever since St. Great Martyr Panteleimon was worshiped not only as a healer but also as a warriors’ protector. His name is appealed to in the sacrament of Holy Unction, in the rite of Sanctification of water and in the prayers for the sick. Through the centuries the hearts of the faithful are illuminated by the feats of faith and renunciation in the name of God, performed by St. Panteleimon.
Akathist to the Holy Healer Panteleimon is humbly and with great enthusiasm and love performed by the Moscow Churches’ Choir of Singers (Precentor Anatoly Kuleshov).
2 CD and 2 color booklets (28 pages each) in Russian and in English, with illustrations and icons of St. Healer Panteleimon, with his brief life and the text of the akathist. |
